The Occupancy Control module can be accessed from 1 of 2 areas in the Symphony AC software:

  1. Access Menu
    • Click on the Access Menu from the Navigation toolbar
    • Select Occupancy Control from the drop-down menu
    • Note:  Permission to the Occupancy Control module from the Access menu is determined based on the profile permission settings to the Personnel Manager module
  2. Controller Properties in Hardware Manager
    • From Hardware Manager, please Unlock the Module first.
    • Highlight the controller from the Hardware Tree.
    • From the Controller’s properties box click on the drop down arrow to the right of the Occupancy Control tag.

Once the Occupancy Control window is open:

  1. Select the controller from the pick list by clicking on the drop down arrow to the right of the Controller Tag.
  2. Click on the “Readers” tab and select the reader(s) to be added to the area.  To select the reader(s) click in the box to the left of the reader.  Once the reader has been selected and added to an area you will no longer be able to add that reader to another area.  The box to the left of the reader will be colored in with blue once a reader has been saved to an area.
  3. Highlight the next available area from the “Access Area” column located on the left-hand side of the window.  Right mouse click on the area and select “Add Selected Readers”.
  4. From the area’s properties box type in a name for the area in the text field to the right of the Description tag.
  5. To configure the how frequently the page is refreshed, click on the drop down arrow to the right of the refresh tag and select the desired refresh rate.  Please note the time selected will be in seconds.
  6. Click on the Personnel Tab.  As cards are presented to a reader the card holder information will be displayed with the Last Used date and time, Last Reader used, and Company.  To view the personnel record double mouse click on “(Double Click to Navigate to Record)”.
  7. To display the Muster Report by Area report click on the printer icon located in the lower right hand corner of the window.  This report can be printed, emailed or saved in ODT, VPE, HTM or PDF formats.

Aero Occupancy properties

  1. Description – Enter a description for the Access Area.
  2. Multi-Occupancy – Requires at least 2 occupants to be present in this area in order for a valid request to be granted.  To configure this option click in the box to the right of the Multi-Occupancy tag setting the value to True.
  3. Access Control – Used to configure if the Area should be Enabled or Disabled to valid access requests.  To configure this option click on the drop down arrow to the right of the Access Control tag and select either “0 – Not Configured”, “1 – Disabled”, or “2 – Enabled”.
  4. Occupancy Control – Place a check mark in the box to the right of the Occupancy Control tag to utilize the Occupancy Control features below.
  5. Initial Occupancy Count – The initial number of occupants to set the area to.  To configure this option click in the number field to the right of the Initial Occupancy Count tag and type in the desired number.
  6. Lower Occupancy Count – Once the configured amount is reached an alarm will be displayed in the Event Manager indicating the Lower Occupancy Count has been reached.  To configure this option click in the number field to the right of the Upper Occupancy Count tag and type in the desired number.
  7. Upper Occupancy Count – Once the configured amount is reached an alarm will be displayed in the Event Manager indicating the Upper Occupancy Count has been reached.  To configure this option click in the number field to the right of the Upper Occupancy Count tag and type in the desired number.
  8. Maximum Occupancy Count – The maximum number of occupants the area will allow.
