AIRA video can be exported to VHS tape or TV if your video card supports this feature. The following requirements must be met:
A video card with an NTSC/PAL output port.
A TV or VCR that is plugged into this port.
If you are recording to a VCR, please hookup a TV to your VCR so that you know when to stop recording.
Setup your Display Properties as follows:
In particular note that output device 2 is in the top left and is set to 800x600 at the highest color quality.
Requirements if you purchased an AIRA server with this option from Aimetis
1) A TV or VCR plugged into the NTSC/PAL output port on the back of the AIRA server.
2) If you are recording to a VCR, please hookup a TV to your VCR so that you know when to stop recording.
Steps to save a search or a segment of video to VCR or TV
Create the segment using by conducting a Search or saving video via the Export feature from the Bookmarks Menu bar.
Select View Search Results dialog from the Search menu.
Select More...
Select Play on NTSC out from the context menu that pops up.
The Play video dialog appears. Select which video decorations (if any) you wish overlayed on the image.
Press the Play button. There will be a two second delay where the output is black before video actually starts outputting.
Wait approximately 0.5 seconds after step (6), and press record on your VCR.
If you are recording to a VCR, then watch on your TV that is hooked up to the VCR to see when you have to press the stop button on your VCR to stop recording. The output does not turn black at the end of the video -- the final frame of the movie (1) stays on the output
