If a duress code is entered at a keypad the system can be configured to do any number of things. For example all perimeters doors can be locked down, sounders / strobes can be configured to go off. The system can be configured to either deny on duress or grant access on duress.

Creating the Duress Personnel Record

  1. From the Access, Personnel Manager module, unlock the pad lock to allow editing of the screen.
  2. Create a user called Duress.
  3. Enter the pin number in the card number field as well as the pin field.
  4. Click on the Advance Access tab and assign a number to the Trigger Code field.
  5. Assign the proper Access Levels as determined by the facility.
  6. Click on the floppy disc to save the changes to the duress user.

Creating Duress Trigger

  1. From the Triggers and Macros Module, unlock the pad lock to allow editing of the screen.
  2. Right mouse click in the Trigger column on the left and select Add New Trigger.
  3. Assign a Description of Duress.
  4. Click on the drop down arrow to the right of the Event tag and select RO001 Access Granted.
  5. Click on the drop down arrow to the right of the Address tag and select (All)
  6. Enter the Trigger Code assigned to the Duress personnel record in the box to the right of the Trigger Code tag.
  7. Click on the drop down arrow to the right of the Time Schedule tag and select time schedule 1=Always.
  8. Macro click on the drop down arrow to the right of the Macro tag and select the Macro once created in the next step.

Creating Duress Macros

  1. Right mouse click in the Macro column located on the right of the screen and select Add Macro.
  2. Highlight the New Macro, right mouse-click and select Edit. Assign a Name of Duress to the Macro.
  3. Expand the Macro by clicking on the arrow to the left of the Duress Macro. Highlight the command located just beneath the Macro tag.
  4. From the Macro properties box click on the drop down arrow to the right of the Command tag and select the function that will occur once duress has occurred. For example, to turn on strobe lights when duress occurs select the command 3 Control Point Activate.
  5. Click on the drop down arrow to the right of the Address tag and select the address of the control point to activate in the event of duress.

Note: Multiple commands can be assigned to the macro such as a lock down of readers and activation of sounders.
