Installing or Upgrading Symphony on a FIPS-enabled server

Scenario

During the installation or upgrade of Symphony Server on a server that has FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) enabled, the connection to the database fails and the installation or upgrade does not complete successfully.

Solution

To install Symphony on a server that has FIPS enabled, you must do the following:

1)      Disable the following Microsoft® Windows® registry key:

The HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\fipsalgorithmpolicy

2)      Install Symphony Server and Client executables.
