Aimetis A10D Thin Client Now Shipping!
Deploying IP video just became a lot easier thanks to the Aimetis A10D. The A10D is an ideal product for public view monitors commonly found inside retail, banking, and transportation sites. The product decodes up to 1080p video from over 30 network camera manufacturers, and it is compatible with HDMI monitors supporting up to 1080p resolution.
There are two main deployment scenarios for the A10D:
It can be deployed alongside Aimetis Symphony or Physical Security Appliances and act as a companion product. This doesn’t mean it replaces all thick clients, but in cases where dedicated PCs are only used for live video display, the A10D is much easier to install and maintain while still delivering the flexibility needed to mix camera brands.
A firmware update will be available soon to enable direct camera connections through ONVIF. In this second scenario, the A10D connects to a secondary stream from the camera and works independently from the VMS or NVR.

On May 5th, 2014 Aimetis announced the appointment of Sergio Dias da Silva Jr. as the company’s Regional Sales Manager – Brazil, located in São Paulo. Da Silva Jr. will be responsible for all sales activities required to support the needs of this region’s expanding market. With extensive experience in the surveillance industry and outstanding sales success, Da Silva Jr. will lead Aimetis in continued expansion in the region.
Da Silva Jr. joins Aimetis from the position of Regional Sales Manager for Axis Communications. Previous to that, Da Silva Jr. held multiple titles with SIEMENS concluding with Senior Executive Account Manager.

With extensive experience in the surveillance industry and outstanding sales success, Mr. Raud will lead Aimetis in continued expansion in the region.
Mr. Raud spent 23 years at Honeywell International, one of the world's most advanced technology companies. During his tenure at Honeywell, Mr. Raud held a number of positions of increasing responsibility, most recently as VP/GM of Honeywell's worldwide security install and service business.

Aimetis GmbH has entered the Aimetis A10D Thin Client into the PROTECTOR - Award for Safety Engineering competition. This competition is judged by participation from not only PROTECTOR’s vast readership base in the DACH region but also any online submission as well.
Aimetis will be competing in the video surveillance category. The award ceremony will take place on July 2, 2014 as part of the fair safety expo in Munich.

With the recent release of 6.13, Aimetis Technical Support has updated its support procedures. Software versions that are listed on the Support Lifecycle as ‘End of Life’ will require either a 1 time per-incident support SKU or Version Upgrade SKU’s in order for a case to be created and to have a Support Technician look at the issue. We recommend being on Maintenance and Support as this ensures our customers have the ability to run the latest version of our product. This also ‘future proofs’ their installations and gives them priority in their respective support queues.
Aimetis Training Services is also beginning to offer a 3rd day of in-class training that focuses on Analytics Optimization. This 3rd day is offered as an addition to the 2 day in-class certification training and counts towards earning the Aimetis Certified Analytics Engineer Certificate (ACAE). Look for this 3rd day training course starting in July, in Austin Texas. Contact your Sales Rep for more details.

Version 6.10 is End-of-Life and end of support.
In accordance with the published Aimetis Support Lifecycle, customers that are currently using End-of-Life product versions have two options to ensure you are receiving complete support. First, the purchase of an upgrade to a generally available, supported product version will provide you with the best path to a fully supported product. Secondly, customers can purchase a per-incident support SKU (AIM-1I-TS) to receive support from Aimetis.
*Note: Product versions that are End-of-Life will not be patched or updated by Aimetis, configuration and installation issues will be looked at only.
