A Reflection on Aimetis’ First 10 Years in Business

This past October marked Aimetis 10 year anniversary, and with that I would like to take a moment and reflect on how far the company has come since 2003.

Aimetis business has evolved from its humble beginnings in a Waterloo, Ontario basement (literally) to now becoming a recognized leader in integrated intelligent video management solutions. Our founders, Mike Janzen and Justin Schorn, started Aimetis with a vision of how Aimetis could make the world a safer place. While the original focus on video analytics continues to be a significant differentiator in the market for Aimetis, our offerings portfolio has expanded over time with great results. Today the company is recognized in the industry as one of the Top 10 VMS providers globally, as well as one of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in North America.

And while I am pleased with the market adoption of our offerings and the financial performance of the company, I am most proud of the team we have built. Aimetis employs some of the most experienced, knowledgeable and professional people in the industry, establishing a corporate culture where we encourage calculated risk-taking while ensuring accountability. It is this culture which has allowed us to recruit and retain such a motivated and productive team.

Over the years, Aimetis has forged many great relationships with 800 resellers globally, as well as close to 50 technology partners. We share this 10 year anniversary celebration and achievement with these organizations because we know that our success is not possible without their contribution and effort. Working with industry leaders has allowed Aimetis to provide our customers with outstanding solutions and service excellence over the years. And for that, I would like to extend a very big ‘Thank You’ to all of our partners.

Aimetis has ambitious goals for the next 10 years. We believe the company is well positioned to build on the success over the past decade by expanding our offerings, continuing to attract, develop and retain the industry’s best talent, and executing on our business plan.
