Marc Holtenhoff – Chief Executive Officer and Director
Mr. Holtenhoff has close to 20 years of leadership experience at successful, growth oriented technology companies. At Aimetis, Mr. Holtenhoff is responsible for the organization's corporate strategy, financial performance and overall growth. Prior to Aimetis, Mr. Holtenhoff was the CEO of California based 1GlobalPlace, Inc., an IT security company funded by Reuters €450 Venture Capital Fund. Mr. Holtenhoff led the company from inception to its successful acquisition by VeriSign, a $5 billion technology security and communications company. Previously, Mr. Holtenhoff held a variety of enterprise sales and marketing management positions at the Xerox Corporation. Mr. Holtenhoff holds a Master's degree in Business Administration and Economics from the Copenhagen Business School in Denmark and a Bachelor's degree from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
Mike Janzen – Chief Software Architect, Director, and Founder
Mr. Janzen co-founded Aimetis after over two years of research and development in the fields of computer vision and artificial intelligence. Mr. Janzen is responsible for formulating the company's technology strategy, research and development initiatives, and overall network infrastructure management. Mr. Janzen graduated from the University of Waterloo with an Honors Bachelor of Math and Computer Science degree in 2000. In 2001, Mr. Janzen developed a distributed agricultural database system which was sold to farms.com. In 2002, Mr. Janzen designed a distributed network vulnerability detection system called Network Explorer that is able to use multiple computers to scan the entire Internet for vulnerable machines in under six hours.
Gordon Heard, CPA, CA – Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Heard, a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant, brings to Aimetis over 20 years of experience in financial leadership positions from a variety of technology and professional services companies. Most recently he was Principal Advisor at The Finance Group specialising in financial management and regulatory compliance services. Heard also served as Chief Finance Officer for aviation software company Navtech and corporate controller for Descartes, a global leader in software solutions for logistics. He also worked in a variety of finance and accounting roles at Amec, Wajax and KPMG.
Justin Schorn – Vice President, Product Management, Director, and Founder
Mr. Schorn co-founded Aimetis, where he oversees the operation and product development. Mr. Schorn's technical knowledge combined with his business expertise provides a valuable addition to Aimetis' management team. Mr. Schorn previously worked at DALSA, a global leader in digital imaging, in the IT department. Mr. Schorn graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an Honors degree in Political Science.
David Almasi – Vice President, Global Sales
Mr. Almasi brings to Aimetis more than 20 years of leadership and sales experience in technology and physical security companies. At Aimetis, he is responsible for leading the company's global sales activities through distributors and system integrators. Prior to Aimetis, Mr. Almasi was regional vice president at Stanley Security Canada, overseeing the growth and performance of the second largest system integrator in Canada. Prior to Stanley, Mr. Almasi held sales leadership positions with GE Security and Ericsson. Mr. Almasi also has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Western Ontario.
Dave Thompson – Vice President, Engineering & Support
Mr. Thompson has more than 30 years of experience in software development working at a variety of high-tech firms. At Aimetis, he is responsible for leading the development, testing, and delivery of Aimetis' software products as well as overseeing post-sales support. Most recently, he was Senior Director of Engineering Excellence at Blue Coat Systems, where he led the continuous quality improvement initiatives across a 300 plus member engineering organization. Prior to Blue Coat, Mr. Thompson served at Invensys Process Systems as Director of Process Improvement in their 650 person engineering organization and also as Director of Product Development and Support for their Avantis business unit specializing in asset management software. Prior to this, Mr. Thompson was Director of R&D for i2 Technologies (now part of JDA Software Group) developing supply chain management software, and he also served in a variety of engineering leadership roles at Sybase (now an SAP Company), and other companies. Mr. Thompson holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto.

Phil Reddon – Director
Mr. Reddon has 20 years of investment experience in technology companies. He is currently the Managing Director of Covington Capital where is responsible for the venture firms' new investment opportunities and managing existing investments. Prior to joining Covington, Mr. Reddon spent six years at the Bank of Montreal Capital Corporation as Managing Director for a $400 million private equity fund. He was head of the Technology Investment team, and sat on the investment committee, which was involved in the investment and approval process for over 60 companies. Prior to BMO Capital, Mr. Reddon held various positions at the Business Development Bank of Canada. During Mr. Reddon's investment career, he has served as a board member on dozens of companies and oversaw successful exits of portfolio companies.
Jim Whitaker – Director
Jim Whitaker joined the predecessor manager of the VentureLink Group of Funds in March 2003 after more than eight years with Working Ventures Canadian Fund Inc., where he led the Information Technology Team and was a member of the Management Investment Committee. While at Working Ventures, Jim led investments or acted as a board member in approximately twenty companies. Prior to joining Working Ventures, Mr. Whitaker worked in a number of practice areas at Ernst & Young providing financial advisory services to mid-market companies in a wide range of industries. Mr. Whitaker is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Business Valuator.
Anthony Ball – Director
Mr. Ball is currently the President of Identity & Access Management at HID Global Corporation, responsible for the P&L of global business including physical access, ID assurance, secure issuance, biometric solutions and digital certificate products, services and solutions. Since Joining HID in 2007, Mr. Ball has served various strategic positions, including SVP Identity & Access Management, VP World Wide Sales, and Managing Director EMEA. He also has considerable international experience working within the physical and logical access control industry, specifically in the areas of smart cards, secure issuance and mobile and ePayment solutions. Prior to joining HID, Mr. Ball held several executive positions of increasing responsibility within Gemalto, Axalto and Schlumberger.
