Aimetis First to Offer 360-degree Panoramic Video Analytics with ImmerVision's Panomorph Lens

Montreal, Canada - 2007-05-17

ImmerVision, the expert in 360-degree panoramic imaging technology and developer of the IMV1-1/3 Panomorph lens for video surveillance, announced today that Aimetis Corp., provider of intelligent video software and services, has successfully certified that AIRA v5 SE, the leading Open IP-Surveillance software product, is ImmerVision Enables. The ImmerVision Enables certification allows users of AIRA software to leverage panoramic functionality, without any blind spots, when using ImmerVision's IMV1 1/3 Panomorph lens with standard analog or network cameras.

The IMV1-1/3 Panomorph lens is a major discovery for today's security/surveillance industry because it enables panoramic functionality with any standard analog and IP cameras thus making its implementation cost less expensive than older panoramic technologies such as the fisheye and mirror lenses.

"Aimetis distinguishes itself as an innovative market leader for both video analytics and Open IP-Surveillance software," said Alessandro Gasparini, Chief Commercial Officer of ImmerVision. "End-users have been demanding more than just analytics over a limited surveyed area, they want to see everything, anywhere at anytime. With Aimetis ImmerVision enabled software and the IMV1-1/3 Panomorph lens, video analytics can cover more area with a single camera than previously possible," he added.

"Aimetis is always looking at new technologies to deliver the best experience possible for our customers," said Marc Holtenhoff, CEO of Aimetis. "We are delighted to work with ImmerVision in the development of unique solutions to further enhance our user's ability to monitor video accurately and cost effectively."

Aimetis will host live demonstrations to show its ImmerVision Enables panoramic functionality combined with the IMV1-1/3 Panomorph lens, May 21 - 24, 2007, Booth 22199 at the IFSEC show in Birmingham, UK.

About ImmerVision

With a mission to "invent and bring panoramic technologies to the world" the ImmerVision team develop both Panomorph optics and software algorithms to enable panoramic functionalities that can be used on any common video device for numerous applications such as video conferencing, automotive, medical, aerospace and security. ImmerVision's IMV1-1/3 lens fits on any CS Mount security camera with a 1/3" sensor from 480 TVL to 1.2 MP, which is standard for video surveillance cameras, making the IMV1-1/3 lens a universal solution to some of the outdated surveillance systems in the market today. The term PANOMORPH, used by the scientific community, is derived [from the Greek word pan meaning all, horama meaning view, and morph meaning form.] To date ImmerVision has established six (6) worldwide patents for its visionary technology comprised of panomorph optics and software. It began its research activities in France in 1999 and in 2003, under the leadership of Pascale Nini, President and CEO of ImmerVision, moved its headquarters to Montreal, Canada. For more details
